China 'firmly opposes' new US law on processor chips

China on Wednesday said it "firmly opposes" a recently signed US law which encourages domestic producers of processor chips to reduce dependence on Asian suppliers. This week, US President Joe Biden promised $52 billion in grants to investors in chip factories in the US. China said this will "disrupt international trade and distort global semiconductor supply chains".
