China recently operationalised the world's most powerful wind turbine, which can reportedly power 36,000 households for a year. The 16-megawatt turbine, MySE-16-260, is located at an offshore wind farm near Fujian province. The turbine is also the world's largest and is taller than a 67-storey building. It has rotor blades with diametres spanning twice the length of a football field.
