China jails former internet regulator for 14 yrs for bribery

A Chinese court on Tuesday jailed the former chief internet regulator Lu Wei for 14 years on charges of corruption. Lu Wei was found guilty of accepting bribes worth $4.7 million from companies and individuals seeking help with regulatory issues. The 59-year-old, who pleaded guilty to the charges in October 2018, told the court that he would not appeal.
