China on Monday launched the PRSS-1 and the PakTES-1A satellites for Pakistan from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center. According to the Chinese state media, the PRSS-1 will be used for land and resources surveying and monitoring of natural disasters, among other purposes. The PRSS-1 is China's first optical remote sensing satellite sold to Pakistan.
