China has merged smaller businesses with over 96,000 employees to launch a $7.5 billion state-owned aircraft engine maker, to focus on designing and testing aircraft engines, Chinese state-run media said on Sunday. Earlier, Chinese aircraft used engines made by Rolls-Royce​ among others. This reportedly is aimed at developing competitive Chinese products and services for international markets.
