Taiwan has said that China offered airplanes and ferries to lure the Pacific island nation of Kiribati after it severed diplomatic ties with Taiwan in order to establish relations with China. Kiribati's decision came only four days after the Solomon Islands cut ties with Taiwan in favour of China. Only 15 countries now have diplomatic relations with Taiwan.
