China made a new territorial claim while objecting to a request to develop the Sakteng Wildlife Sanctuary in Bhutan. The claim was made at a meeting of the Global Environment Facility, a US-based global body to finance environment sector projects. "At no point during the boundary discussions between Bhutan and China has it featured as a disputed area," Bhutan said.
