A cleaner at a mall in Shanghai, China lost his left foot after it got stuck in an escalator on Saturday. Being the third escalator-related accident in a week, the event sparked safety concerns in the country. According to reports, out of the 2.4 million escalators in China, 1,10,000 of them have potential safety issues.
