Amid China's push to build self-sufficient semiconductor supply chain, it has mandated chipmakers to use at least 50% domestically made equipment, reported Reuters, citing people familiar with the matter. Although there's no public documentation, chipmakers seeking state approval have been asked to prove, through procurement tenders, that at least half their equipment is Chinese-made, said report.
