China is no longer set to overtake US as the world's largest economy soon, according to a research note by Bloomberg Economics. China's GDP will exceed that of US by mid-2040s and even then, it will happen by "only a small margin" before "falling back behind", it said. China, world's second-largest economy, may never claim the top spot, it added.
