The Chinese Embassy mocked India amid NEET paper leak crisis, claiming that Gaokao, an exam similar to JEE/NEET, was conducted smoothly for 1.3 crore students. However, Gaokao was also hit by paper leak scandal. From 2015-24, 11,000 people were penalised for selling exam papers and impersonating candidates. In 2023, several students who gave the exam were diagnosed with depressive disorder.
