China's answer to Boeing & Airbus makes first international flight, gets 'water salute'
China's homegrown C919 passenger aircraft, developed by state-owned Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC), departed on its first commercial international flight to Mongolia on Wednesday. The plane, which got a 'water salute' upon landing, is China's answer to the duopoly established by US' Boeing and France's Airbus. Though homegrown, the narrow-body jet contains foreign-made parts.
