China's central bank owns ₹40,000-crore portfolio in India

China's central bank held shares worth about ₹40,000 crore in at least 35 Indian companies at the end of FY24, Moneycontrol reported citing regulatory filings. The People's Bank of China (PBOC) held shares worth ₹6,139 crore in ICICI Bank, making it its largest India bet. HDFC Bank, Infosys, TCS and Power Grid are also part of the bank's India portfolio.
