China targets Moon's south pole, asteroid sample return in 2026

China's National Space Administration has announced five major missions planned for 2026, led by Chang'e-7's robotic exploration of the Moon's south pole. Set for August, it'll study water ice and complex terrain using an orbiter, lander, rover and a hopping probe. The plan also includes Tianwen-2's asteroid sample return, Shenzhou crewed flights, Mengzhou-1 tests and the Xuntian telescope.
