China has unveiled a prototype for a new high-speed maglev train that is capable of hitting speeds of 620 km/h. The China Railway Engineering Corporation (CREC) has said that it is expected to be the fastest land vehicle. The train runs on high-temperature superconducting power that makes it look as if the train is floating along the magnetised tracks.
