China's Mars rover Zhurong observed salt-rich dunes with cracks and crusts on the planet. The dunes were likely mixed with melting morning frost or snow as recently as a few hundred thousand years ago, researchers said. The estimated date range for the formation of cracks and other dune features was sometime after 1.4 million-400,000 years ago or even younger.
