Chinese, German scientists build room temperature magnetic sensor

Chinese and German researchers have developed a magnetic sensor to spot magnetic signals much more faint than Earth's magnetic field while operating at room temperature. The sensor can help search for dark matter particles or even monitor brain signals. Measuring magnetic fields often requires extremely cold, near-absolute-zero temperatures leading to the need for costly liquid-helium systems.
