Chinese city gets one-dog policy, bans 40 dog breeds

A Chinese city on Thursday introduced a one-dog policy, allowing households to have only one dog. The city, Qingdao, will levy a fine of 2,000 yuan (₹19,000) on citizens with over one dog and require dog owners to register their pets and pay a one-time fee of 407 yuan. Qingdao has also banned 40 different breeds of dogs.
