Chinese edtech company GSX Techedu, founded by billionaire Larry Chen, is shutting down its pre-school education business for children aged 3 to 8. This comes after China decided to ban kindergarten and private-tutoring schools from teaching the elementary-school curriculum from June 1, the company's spokeswoman said. Chinese media reported that the company plans to lay off 30% of its staff.
