Indian firms received significantly lower government support compared with Chinese companies between 2005 and 2024, according to an OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) report. Chinese firms received, on average, three to eight times more support than those in OECD countries. It also noted higher subsidies than those received by firms in India, Brazil and Indonesia.
