Chinese military organisations and state-run AI research institutes and universities have purchased small batches of Nvidia semiconductors that have been banned by the US from export to China, Reuters reported. The sales were made by unknown Chinese suppliers as buying Nvidia chips in China isn't illegal. The sold chips include A100 and the more powerful H100 chips.
