Chinese weightlifter Long Qingquan set a world record in the 56-kilogram category at the Rio Olympics, lifting a total of 307 kilograms to win the Gold. Qingquan broke Halil Mutlu's world record of 305 kilograms, set at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. Long joined defending champion Om Yun Chol as one of seven men to have lifted thrice their bodyweight.
