Chinstrap penguins take over 10,000 4-second naps a day: Study

Nesting 'chinstrap' penguins take more than 10,000 naps a day, with each nap lasting an average of four seconds, a study has found. The animals accumulate around 11 hours of sleep daily using this strategy, the study said. 'Chinstrap' penguins get their name from the narrow band of black feathers that goes under their "chin" from ear to ear.
