Micron Technology Inc, the largest US maker of memory chips, said it will lay off 10% of its 48,000 employees in 2023, citing supply-demand mismatch in the semiconductor market. Micron also projected a steep sales decline and a wider loss than analysts had estimated for current quarter. The company added that it will significantly reduce capex plans in fiscal 2024.
