A helicopter carrying pilgrims from Jammu’s Katra area to the Vaishno Devi shrine crashed on Monday, killing at least five pilgrims and the pilot. The authorities have recovered the wreckage and the bodies, and are ascertaining the identities of the deceased. The state was reportedly observing unfavourable weather conditions on Monday which had also cancelled several flights in Srinagar.
