Chris Anne Affleck, the mother of Oscar winners Ben Affleck and Casey Affleck, died on June 2 at the age of 83, her family announced on July 23. She had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in December. Chris, a civil rights advocate, graduated from Harvard University and spent 35 years as a public school teacher.
