Christa Pike faces execution, 1st woman in over 200 yrs to be executed in Tennessee

Christa Pike is scheduled to be executed on Wednesday after Governor Bill Lee denied her clemency request. If carried out, Pike's execution would mark the state's first execution of a woman since 1820. Pike was convicted of first-degree murder in 1996 and sentenced to death. She, along with her boyfriend, killed their 19-year-old classmate, Colleen Slemmer, in January 1995.
