Cisco chief Patel asks 27-year-old 'Paddy' to rewrite 42-year-old firm's code in 2 years using AI

Cisco President Jeetu Patel gave unlimited AI tokens to 27-year-old Padmanabhan Krishnamurthy, or 'Paddy', to help him rewrite 98% of the 42-year-old company's code in two years, Fortune reported. Paddy was found after Patel dropped into Cisco's San Francisco office. Cisco bought Paddy's startup in 2025, after which he joined the technology company and got "buried away in the organisation".
