Citigroup on Friday said it has fired some workers of its mortgage team "due to internal streamlining of functions" and is helping affected workers find new roles "within Citi or outside the firm". Reportedly, less than 100 positions were affected by the job cuts. This comes as increasing prices and mortgage rates have slowed down the housing market in US.
