Citigroup accidentally credited client's account with $81 trillion when it meant to send $280 last April in a "near miss", FT reported. The internal transfer was missed by both a payments employee and a second official who checks transactions before approval. A third employee caught the error and the payment was reversed several hours later and no funds left Citi.
