Chief Justice of India BR Gavai on Sunday backed the exclusion of the creamy layer in reservations for Scheduled Castes. CJI Gavai stated that the children of an IAS officer cannot be equated with the children of a poor agricultural labourer when it comes to reservations. "What's applicable to OBCs should also be made applicable to Scheduled Castes," he added.
