Government's PIB Fact Check page said claims of National Testing Agency (NTA) being a private society that doesn't come under RTI Act are "fake". "NTA is an Autonomous Body established by Government of India under the aegis of Education Ministry. [It] is a separate legal entity and has been registered as a Society under the Societies Registration Act," said PIB.
