Climate change to raise Arsenic in rice, threatening Asia by 2050

A study published in The Lancet Planetary Health by Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health reveals that climate change could increase arsenic levels in rice, a staple for millions in Asia. Rising temperatures and carbon dioxide may elevate risks of heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. Projections suggest millions of cancer cases by 2050, particularly in China.
