Climate, humans caused decline of once 2nd largest salt lake

According to a recent study, a combination of climate change and water usage are responsible for drying of the Iran's Lake Urmia, once the world's second-largest hypersaline lake. Around 60% of the lake's water decline was caused by climate change, such as precipitation changes, while 40% of the decline was attributed to water management, such as diverting water for irrigation.
