Alvin Hellerstein, a 92-year-old US federal judge appointed by President Bill Clinton in 1998, will preside over the case against captured Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro in Manhattan. Maduro faces charges including narco-terrorism, cocaine importation conspiracy, and possession of weapons. Hellerstein has decades of experience handling high-profile cases in the Southern District of New York.
