CM Punk has made his return to WWE after nine years away from the promotion. He returned at the end of the show at WWE's Survivor Series 2023 in his hometown Chicago. In September, CM Punk was sacked by All Elite Wrestling (AEW), WWE's rival, with cause after a backstage physical altercation with wrestler Jack Perry.
