Researchers claim by 2025, atmospheric CO2 levels will likely be higher than even the warmest period of last 3.3 million years. They reconstructed the atmospheric CO2 concentration that was around 3 million years ago, and found the warmest part of the period had between 380-420 ppm CO2. Today, CO2 levels are rising at about 2.5 ppm per year, researchers said.
