Coal India output falls for first time in six years

Coal India's production declined 3.7% year-on-year to 453.5 million tonnes during April - November FY26, marking the first contraction in six years. Prolonged monsoon rains, land acquisition issues and lower power-sector demand weighed on output. Coal dispatch to the power sector also fell 3.27% during the period.
