Coal India to have 3 more independent directors

The government is likely to appoint three more independent board of directors for the world's largest coal producer, Coal India Ltd (CIL). Until October 31, CIL did not have any independent director on its board for over two months. As per SEBI guidelines, a company should have 50% independent directors on its board, if it has an executive chairman.
