US-based AI startup Cognition unveils Devin, the first "fully autonomous" AI software engineer. Devin plans, executes engineering tasks, learns, fixes mistakes, and handles developer tools. It can build/deploy apps, find/fix bugs, and even Upwork jobs. Devin has access to developer tools including the shell, code editor and browser within a sandboxed compute environment. Early access is now open.
