Nasdaq-listed global IT major Cognizant reported a decline in employee headcount by 10,500 to 2,81,200 as of second quarter ended June. CEO Brian Humphries, during an earnings call, said that voluntary attrition stood at 10.5%, which translates to roughly 1,100 employees, meaning 9,400 employees were laid off during the quarter. Humphries added the company has 2 lakh employees in India.
