Cold wave triggers sharp rise in brain stroke cases: Report

Cold wave conditions have led to a sharp rise in brain stroke cases across Jharkhand, according to data from RIMS. Ranchi hospitals reported 10-15 stroke patients daily, up from 2-4 before winter. Doctors warned that cold constricts blood vessels, raises BP and thickens blood, increasing stroke risk-even among younger adults. Timely treatment during the golden hour is crucial.
