Colombian authorities seized hundreds of arachnids, including 232 tarantula spiders, nine spider eggs and a scorpion with seven of its young, allegedly being smuggled to Europe via the airport in capital city Bogota. They were being transported in 210 plastic containers by two Germans, who have been arrested, officials said. Authorities have seized over 11,000 specimens so far this year.
