The Maharashtra government has abolished the annual non-agricultural tax imposed on housing societies in urban areas, Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule announced. All past dues and pending recoveries have also been waived. NA tax was a colonial-era levy imposed on residential and commercial properties developed on agricultural land and was paid in addition to the regular property tax.
