According to scientists at the Paris Observatory, a comet, Lovejoy is releasing alcohol equivalent to 500 bottles into space every second. This is the first time ethyl alcohol, the same found in alcoholic beverages has been found in a comet. The presence of 20 other organic molecules suggests that comets could have been responsible for the emergence of life.
