A study found that common diabetic drug, Metformin, works by acting on pathways in the brain. Researchers from US' Baylor College of Medicine found that Metformin tackles diabetes by suppressing the 'Rap1' protein in the brain. Researchers added that the drug was found to have other benefits as well such as slowing brain aging and improving lifespan.
