The Allahabad High Court said rape and molestation cases under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act cannot be quashed based on compromises between parties involved. The court's aim in such cases is to determine truth of allegations, not to persecute or let off accused, the HC said. An offence under POCSO Act is offence against society, it added.
