Condé Nast Traveller has listed kite festivals around the world, in time for the Indian Makar Sankranti and Gujarat’s Uttarayan festival. Among other festivals are the Adelaide International Kite Festival, celebrated around Easter, California’s Morro Bay Kite Festival, which is held near a volcanic plug for favourable winds and the 500-year-old Hamamatsu Kite Festival in Japan.
