According to reports, the Congress has proposed the name of party MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury for the post of chairman of Public Accounts Committee (PAC). PAC is a committee of selected Members of Parliament, which audits revenue and expenditure of the Central government and traditionally goes to the main Opposition. Chowdhury is also Congress' leader in the Lok Sabha.
