Comparing the cost of train tickets in 2014 and 2024, Congress said rail travel has become costly. It claimed the cost for a 1,300-km journey on Mail/Express train increased by ₹182 for Sleeper, ₹457 for 3AC, ₹640 for 2AC and ₹1,059 for 1AC in last 10 years. Railways Ministry reacted saying, "The data shared does not match the factual one."
